Configuration of the electrodes on the maternal abdomen. The fetal ECG is recorded with eight electrodes on the maternal abdomen, placed in a fixed configuration. A ground and reference electrode are placed near the belly. The electrodes are connected to our fetal ECG system, which is connected to a computer. This system records six channels of fetal ECG data
